practical swiss style film poster research/analysis

This poster design for the film UP communicates by using shape to represent elements from the film, the multiple squares are used to represent balloons and the basic shape bellow represents the house that the film is based around. The basic shapes use basic semiotics to represent a different object then they actually are. The wide colour pallet used within the poster also represents the happiness and joy portrayed in the film.




The Alien poster uses a range of different design elements to represent the film, the poster it’s self represent the alien from the film though the colour pallet used within poster represent elements within the film for example the green on the poster represents the acid blood that the alien has and the white triangles represent the menacing teeth that the alien has.


The lord of the rings poster represents a major elements within the story of the film, the poster represents the main antagonist of the film and the representing the all seeing eye high upon the tower. The colour pallet also represents the menacing nature of the area in the film that the tower is located. The typography is also used successfully to create aye catching typography that contrasts the darkness that the poster portrays.
