Elements of a successful film poster.
To understand the design of modern day film posters, I began researching into what elements create a successful film poster to then be able to reduce and redesign these elements into a poster that primarily uses typography rather than image.
What I got from looking at this website is that film posters tend to keep away from ‘artys’ big promotional posters as they bare in mind into the design the future retail products that the film eventually gets to after been in the cinema, for example the design gets shrunk down to the size of a DVD cover. Instead of been ‘artys’ film poster design tends to stick to four marketing techniques attention, interest, desire, and action in order to grab your attention toward the poster.
After reading this I will keep these seven points in mind when creating my posters:

2. Iconography
3. Interest
4. Appeal
5. Style
6. Lasting Appeal
7. Recognisability
